Hello Ed 422! My name is Brooke Tobia. I recently got married and changed my last name, so it’s still weird to say that. Anyway, I am 25 years old, almost 26, and I was born in Orange, California. I skipped around a little bit while going to school. I started going to school in Orange and then moved to Corona where I finished the rest and graduated from Santiago High School. Santiago was a great school; it was a magnet school that was open to students interest. I focused a lot on math classes and some science. This was a great experience for the students because it kept us interested. I am now completing my last semester here at CSUSM and will be graduating this May. Yeah! - I have been taking the 7-year program- anyone else familiar with that plan? I will be graduating with my bachelors in liberal studies and have my emphasis in math and science. I am so excited to enter the credential program this fall. My goal is become a middle school math teacher.
My little ibook (which is a Mac, for some who aren’t familiar) is a close companion of mine. I really appreciate how easy Macs are to use. As far as my ability with technology, I am a little weak in the area. Although I have had my computer for over three years now, I find myself learning something new all the time. I consider myself lucky because my husband is handy with the computer and is able to help me out when ever I’m in a bind. I don’t know about anyone else, but I use to feel that computers had something against me and would only fail whenever I came around. I think this class will be to a great advantage for me and help me build my confidence with computers. I’m excited about all of the cool applications that we have at our disposal in class, I hope we are able to find out more about them.
Wow! If the College of Education is anything like the mission statement claims, I will consider myself honored to be part of it. I appreciate the overall feel of the statement. While reading it, I felt that they are committed to new ideas, team efforts, open- mindedness and the desire change. In my little experience that I have had so far with the College of Ed, I feel this statement rings true. I believe in the program and the people that are running it and feel that it will one of the best decisions that I will make when I apply.
